When poor health and poverty collide in resource poor-settings the consequences are devastating. Individuals living with HIV/AIDS in extreme poverty in nations lacking basic public health infrastructure face a confluence of challenges. HTH Initiatives are designed to respond to these related challenges simultaneously.
HTH's flagship initiative, the Community Directed HIV Initiative, operates in Togo, West Africa. Togo is plagued by poverty and a weak public health infrastructure. As a result the nation's HIV prevalence is among the highest in West Africa.
